Hardy Water Lilies
(Nymphaea)
Water lilies are the focal
point of the water garden. Their extraordinary blossoms command attention while
their beautiful foliage contrasts with the water's surface as well as provides
shade and cover for fish. Generally,
water lilies should be planted in containers submersed 12"-24" deep.
Dwarf varieties do best when planted 6" to 8" deep in small ponds
where they won't have to compete with more robust growers.
